What moves your rate between $8 and $12
- Height. Taller eaves mean more equipment and setup.
- Roof pitch. Steeper roofs take slower, safer work.
- Complexity. Gables, dormers and corners add steps.
- Total footage. We measure each edge you want lit.
A photo of the front of your house and your address are often enough for a firm figure.
Pricing questions
Is the $8 to $12 rate per foot of lights or per foot of roof?
Per linear foot of roofline we light. We measure the edges you want outlined, and that total drives the price.
How do I compare quotes from two Christmas light companies?
Put them side by side on four lines: rate per foot, total footage, what is included (lights, repairs, takedown, storage) and what is extra. A lower rate that leaves out takedown or storage is not really lower.
What should a written Christmas light quote include?
Your address, the footage being lit, the per-foot rate, the total, the install window, what the price covers and what is extra. If any of that is missing, ask for it.
Is a flat price better than per-foot pricing?
Per-foot pricing is easier to check because you can see how the total was built. A flat price is fine too as long as it lists the footage it is based on.
Why does my neighbor's quote differ from mine for a similar-looking house?
Two houses that look alike from the street can differ in roofline length, peak height, roof pitch and the number of corners. Those details change the work, and so the price.
Can I see how my total is calculated?
Yes. Your estimate shows the footage and the rate it was multiplied by, with any separate lines for trees, wreaths or ground displays listed on their own.
Are trees and wreaths part of the per-foot rate?
No. The rate covers the roofline. Trees, wreaths, shrubs and walkway lights are priced by size and count and added as their own lines.
Do you give a price before you visit?
Often, yes. An address and a couple of photos are usually enough to quote a typical house, and we confirm the footage before work begins.
